Maranatha: The Cry of the Ready Heart

Intimacy with the Lord means loving Him—


truly loving Him—


as a woman loves a man.

It is complete and total abandon


to the Lover of your soul,


with the infallible assurance


that you belong to Him.

In this world, it is dangerous


to love another human being in this way,


because every person is flawed


and destined to let us down.

To love with the abandon our hearts long for


is, in human terms, unsafe and unwise.

But when we are filled with the love of Christ,


we are filled with Love itself—


for God is not merely loving,


He is Love.

No other being can claim this.

And so, in our fleshly lives,


we learn restraint.


We practice detachment.


We hold ourselves back—


and this produces


a peculiar loneliness


as we walk the earth.

Praise Him


that in Him


no such detachment is required,


or needed boundaries set in place.

In fact, we are told:

“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.


To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”


— Romans 11:26

“Abide in Me, and I in you.


As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself


unless it abides in the vine,


neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”


— John 15:4

“I have loved you with an everlasting love;


therefore I have drawn you


with unfailing kindness.”


— Jeremiah 31:13

These Scriptures—and many others—


speak the language of union,


of immersion,


of consummation.

It is a language we can only compare
to making love.

Sex is our sole human experience


of being united with another person


in an almost supernatural way

—
and even then,


only for a moment.

And yet, as a seasoned therapist,


I consider sex to be


one of the greatest stumbling blocks


in the human condition.

Far more often than it creates union,


it produces dissonance—


disconnect instead of communion—


and untold trauma and dysfunction


in forms too numerous to name.

Here the devil is clearly at work.


Through sexual discord,


he distorts, twists, attacks,


and mars God’s creation—


one of his most effective strategies.

We are living in a time


where the evidence is undeniable:

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.”


— John 10:10

The exposure of pedophilia,


human trafficking,


and the vast pervasiveness of such evil


is like a worldwide pandemic—


one we scarcely understood until now.

And even now,
most remain deceived.

We must be careful,


for Satan spreads this infection


through exposure to the subject itself.

For how many months


have we been introduced


to Jeffrey Epstein,


the Epstein Files,


and the promise of coming exposure—


and now it is here.

Images multiplied,


placed openly online,


available for all to see—


corrupting minds


that would never have conceived


of such evil.

Children exposed to torture.

What a masterful desensitization ploy—


slow,


steady,


a quiet infection


of hearts and minds.

All the while,


completely oblivious


to the corrosive destruction


of the soul.

Which means many will fall to the disease.

Even the word pandemic


was largely foreign to us


until recently—


a subtle marker of the age we are in.

In the health world,


there is growing attention on parasites—


how they invade the body


and cause widespread illness.

And now my attention rests


on that same word:


parasites.

This is how Satan operates.

This is how demonic forces


and unconfessed sin work their way


into every sphere of life.

He is parasitical.

Because he cannot create,


he must usurp.


He must feed off life,


break it down,


and eventually destroy it.

This is erosion.

It mirrors what we see


in the proliferation of autoimmune disease—


when the body’s own defenses


turn against healthy cells,


tissues,


and organs,


producing chronic inflammation


and damage.

I am grieved


by how many people


accept this as normal.

As Spirit-filled believers,


we must reject every attack of this kind


as neither true
n

or inevitable.

To serve created things


instead of the Creator


is to grant authority


to man-made systems


above God’s ways


and God’s promises.

“For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.”

Romans 14:23

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper,


and every tongue which rises against you in judgment


you shall condemn.


This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,


and their righteousness is from Me,”


says the LORD.

Isaiah 54:17

“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie


and worshiped and served created things


rather than the Creator—


who is forever praised. Amen.”
—

Romans 1:25

Real life is God.


Death is of Satan.

“I set before you life and death… choose life.”

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today,


that I have set before you life and death,


blessing and curse.


Therefore, choose life,


that you and your offspring may live.”
—

Deuteronomy 30:19 (ESVUK)

It truly is


that simple


and that clear.

To choose anyone or anything over God


is to choose death.

And when what we choose


is wrapped in brightly colored cellophane—


appearing sweet,


harmless,


and desirable—


we must remember


that Satan comes


as an angel of light.

Whether it is politics,


a leader,


a church,


a pastor,


a relationship,


a cause,


an addiction,


or an ambition—

If God is not first,


It is death to you.

It is idolatry,


no matter how well it is packaged.

We are witnessing, on a global scale,


Satan parading unmasked


as an angel of light—


Yet to those with eyes to see,


It unveils corruption and darkness.

And so,


there is—and will continue to be—


a great falling away.

The deception we see now,

he packaging,


is the cumulative effect of a long


and methodical strategy


to blind us from the truth.

“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie…”
—

Romans 1:25

The Old Testament, distilled,


reveals a single pattern:


God taking territory


by removing the parasites from the land.

It is striking that the enemy nations.


ended in ites:


Amorites,


Girgashites,


Hittites,


Hivites,


Jebusites,


Perizzites.

For those not walking in the Spirit,


God’s commands appear brutal—


the destruction of entire peoples,


even animals,


even children.

But is this not


the logic of chemotherapy?

An imperfect attempt


to eradicate disease—


because even one remaining cell


can destroy the body.

God alone knows


what will ultimately destroy His children,


and in this,


He contends with humanity


to preserve His fledgling body.

Jesus was—and is—


God’s masterstroke.

Satan did not see Him coming.

Now it is only a matter of time


before God’s righteous judgment


eradicates all evil.

As dramatic as this is,


it comforts me.

I trust that the Lord will come


and exterminate all evil.

This is comfort—
true comfort—


because it must be this way.

To trust a just and sovereign God


is to believe


that everything He says in His Word


will happen—


that every promise


It is one hundred percent true.

When a person truly understands


how evil evil is,


yet still wants God to be lenient—


for their own sake
or for the sake of others—


they are not in touch with God.

He is Holy.


He is Good.

And thank God


that God does not tolerate


sin or evil.

A true believer


should long live


in the Kingdom, God promises.

“And there will be a highway there,


and it shall be called the Way of Holiness…”

Isaiah 35:8

I end now with a heart full of love and longing for Jesus to come, secure


in knowing that He says:

**“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.


I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
